yo nba, get your shit together

the nba can't get their shit together so it looks like as a result, a giant chunk of the regular season won't happen.

players and owners are fighting with each other and it's hard for me to sympathize with either side. they're all overpaid. i feel bad for all the people who make working wages doing other nba related stuff behind the scenes. those are the ones who get the shaft.

i don't even wanna hear about the nba as a brand. if a professional league can't get their shit together, then we should all agree to fully ignore their existence till they can. in the meantime watch some hockey. watch more football. get more involved in the ncaa bball scene. get tix for a globetrotters exhibition. go to your local park. shoot some hoops yourself.

there's so many alternatives. let's not sit around and pray, wish, and hope they come back. let's not look pathetic, like we need them. it's the exact opposite! they need us! we buy tickets. we buy merchandise. we watch the commercials during the games. without us, there is no nba. and that also applies to all professional sports.

if i could have it my way, the internet, tv, printed media, stores, etc, etc, would all agree to blacklist all things nba till it's resolved. who cares what player goes where? until you have an nba game scheduled for real.. no commercials, no jerseys for sale... no ink, web space, or air time wasted pontificating the finer points of the labor disagreement. just a whole outside world in agreement that until the nba decides to exist, we'll treat it as if it doesn't.
