the great google+/ 'you know you're from...' fb groups conspiracy

ok, so lately my facebook newsfeed has been crammed with other people posting into groups with titles that start with, "you know you're from (fill in the blank) when..." and then people go in and post clever shit about their hometown.

but it's starting to get out of hand and i don't think it's gonna stop anytime soon. i have a friend all the way in arizona that complained about it. also, just today i saw a, 'you know you're cuban if....' group. so it's starting to grow beyond the hometown concept.

these are fun for the individuals in said group. and everyone loves to reminisce. but what sucks is that if any of your friends post in any of these groups, it shows up on your damn newsfeed. and nobody really wants to read a bunch of posts about a town they didn't grow up in, never mind the highly clever posters that come up with 5-6 great posts in a row.

i know who's to blame for this whole mess...

GOOGLE!

that's right. the whole thing stinks of conspiracy. Google+ has come up with this idea to try and kill the facebook newsfeed. if you hate all these group postings, just go to google+ and they won't be there anymore to ruin your social networking experience.

i'm on to you google!

DAMN YOU GOOGLE! DAMN YOU STRAIGHT TO HELL!

(ignore this whole blog post if there is a way to get these postings off your newsfeed and i'm just ignorant of it. i tried to find a way to hide them, i didn't try very hard, but i gave it minimal effort. so my bad IF that is the case)

lol....I am pretty sure all you have to do is "hide" the group ;-)
